Securing the AI Revolution: Fin Capital Invests in WitnessAI’s Next-Gen Enterprise Defense
- By Derek Wu, Associate
It’s no secret that AI has expanded the attack surface for every enterprise. Attackers are increasingly using AI to craft creative security attacks and exploit vulnerabilities. One well-documented example is the recent Anthropic report detailing the disruption of an AI-orchestrated cyber espionage program. And as enterprises continue to deploy AI across their organizations, concerns around shadow AI—unapproved AI apps, unmanaged tools, and non-compliant usage—are growing quickly.
Calling AI a transformative technology is an understatement. Large enterprises and financial institutions are racing to adopt and embed AI throughout their operations. But especially in regulated industries, many organizations lack the tools to monitor how AI is being used and to secure AI models at runtime. And as enterprises begin experimenting with AI agents, the need to safeguard those agents becomes even more urgent.
With that growing need, we at Fin are excited to announce our investment in Witness AI. The Witness platform is incredibly comprehensive. It defends AI applications and agents, discovers all AI usage across an organization, and ensures that every application is being used in a compliant and secure way.
Rick is a seasoned repeat founder with a track record of building and scaling successful technology businesses. When we first met him, we were struck by his holistic approach to security and his ability to execute on major customer engagements so early in the Witness journey.
Every organization will need a platform like Witness—not just to protect their AI applications, but to enforce policies and create guardrails around how AI is used internally. We’re excited to support Rick and the Witness AI team as they deliver the security and controls necessary to accelerate enterprise adoption of AI.
